Provincial minister to discuss tuition rebate program

Ontario Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, Glen Murray will discuss his government’s new 30 per cent tuition grant for university and college students at an appearance Thursday on the UWindsor campus.

Murray will address officials and students from the University of Windsor and St. Clair College during an event in the CAW Student Centre Commons, beginning at 11:30 a.m.

President Alan Wildeman said he welcomes the discussion.

“I'm delighted that Minister Murray is taking the time to come to the University of Windsor to meet with our students and the community, and to talk about the quality and affordability of post secondary education in Ontario,” he said. “These topics are foremost on the minds of everyone as Ontario grapples with its economic situation and positions itself for future prosperity.”

The grants are available to full-time students at Ontario colleges and universities who are Canadian, reside in the province, have been out of high school for less than four years and whose parents’ gross annual income is less than $160,000.
