A partnership with BorderPass, an online platform dedicated to supporting international students, will make the journey to the University of Windsor easier and more enjoyable, says Deena Wang, acting director of international recruitment and admissions in the Office of Enrolment Management.
BorderPass is designed to help institutions manage the international student experience, from receiving their Letter of Acceptance to graduation and beyond. The platform assists eligible students by tracking their study permit progress, guiding them through visa applications, and offering early settlement planning tools.
A pilot program offers complimentary access to BorderPass for incoming international undergraduate students and those enrolled to begin the Master of Engineering program in the Winter 2025 term. International students in other programs can access these services at a discounted rate.
“This collaboration is part of our ongoing effort to make the journey to UWindsor smoother and more accessible for our international undergraduate and Master of Engineering students,” Wang says. “By enhancing the overall student experience, we aim to strengthen our support for international students and ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations.”
BorderPass also provides housing support and connects students with resources to align their academic and work plans with future employment opportunities. With added protection against fraud, it ensures international students feel safe and secure as they embark on their educational journey, says Wang.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to providing expert advice and continuous support to our international students, helping them confidently settle into their new lives in Canada,” she says.
