Puzzle poses possibility of prize package

In the spirit of Janus, the Roman god and namesake of the first month of the year, DailyNews looks forward and back to offer readers a “Before and After” quiz, with a prize supplied by the Office of Alumni Affairs.

One lucky winner will receive a package that includes a lunch bag, notebook, water bottle, soup bowl and spoon, along with an alumni fast facts card.

To enter the contest, submit your responses to these puzzles. Each correct answer will consist of separate phrases that share a common word. For example, “Catholic university federated with the University of Windsor gives a standing ovation to this class act” will yield the answer “Assumption University Players” (Assumption University + University Players).

In the version below, each first phrase will pertain to the University of Windsor. One of the second phrases elides an initial article.

The winning entry will be selected at random from all correct responses received by noon Friday, Jan. 3.

  1. Access to justice academy leads to long-running Sam Waterston procedural.
  2. Seventh president cheers on Mr. Hockey.
  3. Physics home building to music’s best-selling duo.
  4. Acting training ground produces Trump’s how-to business book.
  5. Lancer colours run to Olympic top prize.

Contest is open to all readers of the DailyNews. Send an e-mail with your responses to uofwnews@uwindsor.ca. One entry per contestant, please. Note: the decision of the judge in determining the most correct response is inviolable.
