Conference of educational developers to showcase downtown campuses

A joint effort between the University of Windsor and St. Clair College will be a first-time initiative to showcase the downtown campuses of both institutions and will bring 150 conference guests from across Canada and the U.S. into the emerging downtown core.

The annual conference of the Educational Developers Caucus opened February 16 and will run through February 18. It will provide an opportunity for post-secondary professionals, academics, and administrators to experience Windsor in a new light, say organizers. Conference visitors are encouraged to participate in local activities and learn more about the cities where the event is hosted each year.

“We aim to make this conference memorable and enjoyable for all participants,” says UWindsor president Alan Wildeman. “We see this as a first opportunity to host colleagues from across North America in our vibrant new downtown core. It will be a true eye-opener for those who have never been to Windsor, and a source of pride for those who live here.”

The caucus was established in 2001 to facilitate the advancement and evolution of educational development as a field of practice and scholarship.

“We are thrilled with the opportunity to collaborate with the University of Windsor on this important conference for educators,” says Patti France, president of St. Clair College.
