A documentary film crew drew on UWindsor professor Beth Daly’s interest in anthrozoology to inform viewers about the relationships between people and their exotic pets.
“There is a good little boost for the university,” in the program, which aired January 8 on the CBC series Doc Zone, Dr. Daly says. She teaches educational psychology in the Faculty of Education, as well as courses in anthrozoology—the study of human-animal interactions—for the Centre for Inter-Faculty Programs.
The episode, entitled “Wild & Dangerous,” explores a culture of adopting exotic and sometimes dangerous animals as pets. Written and directed by filmmaker Jason Young, it is available for viewing on the CBC website.
