Author signings Friday to close out Bookstore discount

Four local authors will be on hand Friday to sign their books during the last day of the University Bookstore’s employee discount sale, which offers 10 percent off everything in stock (except textbooks and computers) for all faculty and staff.

The signings are set for noon to 2 p.m. December 13 at the Bookstore kiosk in the CAW Student Centre.

Windsor Star sports writer Bob Duff will sign his Original Six Dynasties: Detroit Red Wings, the first in a planned series about each of the original franchises in the golden age of the National Hockey League. It retails for $29.95.

Chris Edwards and Elaine Weeks of Walkerville Publishing are following up the success of their very popular 500 Ways You Know You’re From Windsor with A Forgotten City, a 400-page volume of black and white photographs of old Windsor, retailing for $50.

University of Windsor resident writing professional Marty Gervais has written the comprehensive history of Hotel Dieu Hospital, People of Faith, retailing for $30.

All three books will be eligible for the 10 percent employee discount, as will the three books featured on November 29: Rino Bortolin’s cookbook Rino’s Kitchen ($24.95), Owen Jones’ Music From Windsor ($24.95) and Paul Vasey’s The River: A Memoir ($19.95).
