Friday lecture on Olympic economics to start at 11 a.m.

Richard Pound, a member of the International Olympic Committee and former president of the World Anti-Doping Agency, will deliver the free public talk “Paradigm Shift:  the New Olympic Economics,” at 11 a.m. Friday in room 143, Human Kinetics Building. Pound will also deliver the keynote address at Kinesiology Research Day today—Thursday, March 13. Entitled “Building a Parallel Universe: the Fight Against Doping in Sport,” his lecture will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Human Kinetics Building’s room 140. It will focus on how a separate governing body outside the traditional judicial system administers and enforces rules designed to eliminate the use of performance enhancing substances among international athletes.

A poster display to follow will showcase the work of faculty, graduate and undergraduate students.
