Voice and piano students to perform in recital

The School of Music’s Take 4 series presents a recital by student musicians, Wednesday, March 28, at 4 p.m. in room 139, Music Building. The program features:

  • Tenor Bill Birkner performing “L’abbandonata” by Saverio Mercadante, and “One more beautiful song” from A Class Act by Edward Kleban, accompanied by pianist Elsie Inselman.
  • Soprano Donja Trivers performing “The Black Swan” from Medium,by Gian Garlo Menotti, as well as “Les oiseaux dans la charmille (Doll song)” from Les Contes, by Jacques Offenbach, accompanied by pianist Ben Goldstein.
  • Mezzo-soprano Deandra Pierroz performing “Deh! Tu, bell’anima” from I Capuleti E I Montecchi, by Vincenzo Bellini, and “Honey Bun” from South Pacific, by Richard Rodgers, accompanied by pianist Ben Goldstein.
  • Pianist Fantine Leng performing the second movement, “Scherzo” from Suite Op. 14 by Béla Bartók.
  • Pianist Jocelyn Putnam performing “Six Little Piano Pieces” by Arnold Schoenberg.
  • Pianist Jihyun Hong performing “5 Variations on Rule Britannia” WoO 79 by Ludwig van Beethoven.

Events in the Take 4 series are free and open to the public.
