The University of Windsor will host the 2025 International Council of Professors of Educational Leadership (ICPEL) Conference and the Educational Leaders Without Borders (ELWB) Conference concurrently this summer.
The on-campus portion of the conferences will be scheduled for July 29 to 30, with virtual participation available Wednesday, Aug. 6.
Inspired in part by the conference location, this year’s theme of “Leading Forward-Thinking, Equitable, and Globally Conscious Communities” calls for proactive, inclusive, and globally aware leadership.
The conferences will feature a shared keynote speaker, Rose Cardarelli, an expert on the climate migration crisis and its impact on the displacement of children, with more speakers to be announced soon.
Michael MacDonald, associate dean in the Faculty of Education, emphasizes the significance of this event for both the University of Windsor and the City of Windsor.
“We are excited to be hosting these conferences that are led by two prominent international organizations that support educational leadership,” Dr. MacDonald says. “This conference will bring together global leaders, educators, and students, all committed to building equitable, inclusive, and forward-thinking communities right here in Windsor and across the globe.”
He encourages educators, researchers, and leaders to engage in this essential conversation, with a call for proposals now open.
