Screening to showcase local short films

The Windsor Film Society is hosting a night of cinema, community, and creativity on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

Its Short Film Showcase is a celebration of talent from Windsor-Essex and will screen works by Nate Bergs, Pauline Bunay, Larissa Cioci, Mike Evans, Ashley Jun, Grace Mclinden, Olivia Patricia, Will Rogers, Jett Shields, and Suede Productions.

It is set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hole in the Wall, the upper level of 67 Richmond St. in Amherstburg.

“After a quiet few years since the pandemic, we’re thrilled to announce our first screening in a long time,” says organizer Mike Stasko, a professor in the Department of Communication, Media, and Film. “A lot of UWindsor students and alumni will be featured, so support our amazing filmmakers and enjoy a great evening in this unique venue.”

He notes that seating is limited, so be sure to secure tickets early — they are $5 at the door or $3 in advance, available at www.windsorfilmsociety.ca.
