According to a workforce study by the International Information System Security Certification Consortium, there is a global shortage of 4 million workers in the field. Canada is no exception to this trend: one in six cybersecurity jobs in Canada go unfilled, representing one of the biggest challenges to the digital economy.
Recognizing the industry impact and career opportunities that these numbers represent, Continuing Education has built out a comprehensive program designed to train the next generation of cybersecurity experts.
The University of Windsor’s Certificate in Cybersecurity offers the chance for learners to dissect the architecture and design of a system to understand threats, attacks, and vulnerabilities. Students will participate in two core courses that will go over system security and system implementation. Upon completing each course, students will take a certification exam. The content of this certificate is mapped with the CompTIA Security+ curriculum for those who are interested in pursuing professional certification. Learn more now.
Classes will be conducted online and are scheduled to take place in the evenings, starting on Oct. 18. There will also be a spring offering in 2025. To stay up to date on course announcements, join the Continuing Education interest list.
