Windsor Law’s LTEC Lab will host a panel of experts to discuss Chat-GPT and Generative AI on Wednesday, Nov. 22.

In this first instalment, the panellists will discuss the latest technological developments of generative AI — in particular Chat GPT — where it is headed, and situate its distinctive and disruptive features within the broader ecosystem of creation and dissemination of knowledge.

The panel will go over some of the recent controversies and court challenges involving Generative AI, copyright law, and privacy law and will then seek input from the audience on the various possible uses of Chat-GPT in higher education, as the University of Windsor and other universities are elaborating user regulations and guidelines.

Panellists include:

• Nick Baker, director of the Office of Open Learning
• Pascale Chapdelaine, associate professor of law with expertise in copyright and privacy law
• Mita Williams, acting law librarian
• Brandon Beck, second-year law student
