This fall, you are invited to join a cinematic journey celebrating the art of storytelling. Every weekend between Sept. 24 and Nov. 19, the South Asian Documentary Film Festival will present selections from a collection of 20 award-winning features sharing diverse narratives that reflect the rich culture of South Asia.
The festival is organized by the Department of Communication, Media, and Film in collaboration with Women’s and Gender Studies and the Transnational Law and Racial Justice Network.
The festival kicks off with the opening screening on location Sunday, Sept. 24, 2 p.m. at the SoCA Armouries, 37 University Ave. East. Remember, street parking is free in downtown Windsor on Sundays.
The rest of the festival will provide online access to all screenings with a free one-time registration. After registering, patrons can access the films each Friday starting at 4 p.m. Register here.
The festival’s programming is free and geared towards students, faculty, artists, creatives, and anyone who is interested in South Asian cultural, socio-political, regional, ethnic, and creative landscape.
