A free public presentation Friday, Jan. 27, is the inaugural event in the Indigenous speaker series from Canterbury ElderCollege.

Stanford Zhupkooum White will discuss “Fire Keepers and the Fire Within” at 3 p.m. on the Zoom platform.

White is of Anishinabe-Ojibwa-Pottawattomi descent and a member of the Bear Clan of Walpole Island. He grew up with a strong traditional upbringing and is active in ceremonial and cultural practices.

ElderCollege membership is not required to attend his lecture. Register on the Canterbury College website.
