Nominations are now open for the Dr. Alan Wright Award for Exemplary Digital Teaching.
Sponsored by the Office of Open Learning, the award recognizes University of Windsor educators who have demonstrated a commitment to innovation and excellence in digitally enabled teaching.
This award is open to all instructors who have taught in online, open, blended, hybrid, hy-flex, or other digital technology enabled learning environments. Candidates can be nominated by colleagues, administrators, staff, students, Indigenous Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community members. Self-nominations are also acceptable.
“Engaging in digitally enabled teaching practices takes commitment, courage, and creative thinking,” says Nick Baker, director of the Office of Open Learning. “This award honours the extraordinary teachers we have who made this commitment in their teaching.”
Baker says the award also aims to help people who are innovating their teaching with digital technologies to share their practices broadly with the University community. Winners will be announced at the Celebration of Teaching Excellence.
“It’s an opportunity to recognize, honour, and celebrate instructors who contributed significantly to student experience during extraordinary times,” says Nobuko Fujita, learning specialist in the Office of Open Learning.
The deadline for nominations is Friday, Feb. 13. Complete packages should be submitted in MS-Word or searchable PDF format by email to openlearning@uwindsor.ca with the subject “Alan Wright Award for Exemplary Digital Teaching.”
