Text-forward artist Anahita Jamali Rad will present during two free public events Tuesday, Nov. 22, in room 364, Dillon Hall: a reading from 2 to 2:45 p.m. and a talk entitled “The Subject of Negation” from 3 to 3:50 p.m.

Informed by anti-imperialist materialist theory, Jamali Rad’s work explores materiality, history, affect, ideology, violence, class, collectivity, desire, place, and displacement.

The reading will draw on poetry from the collections for love and autonomy and still; the lecture will discuss the ongoing project How to be a self-inscribing machine.
