A lecture Friday, Nov. 18, will discuss how Holocaust distortion — rhetoric that serves to excuse, minimize, or misrepresent the known historical record —leads to anti-Semitic narratives.
Sponsored by the Windsor Law Jewish Students’ Association and the UWindsor Office of the Vice-President, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in observance of Holocaust Education Week, the event will take place over Zoom from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Irwin Cotler, Canada’s special envoy on preserving Holocaust Remembrance and combating anti-Semitism, will speak on “The Danger of Holocaust Distortion.” Cotler is an international human rights lawyer, chair of the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights, professor emeritus f law at McGill University, and a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada.
