Stars from basketball, golf, football, cross country and track and field will join the University of Windsor Alumni Sports Hall of Fame this fall.
Jessica Clemençon (BA 2012, MHK 2014) is the all-time leading scorer of Lancer women’s basketball, notching 1,894 points in a five-year career, helping to lead the program to its first-ever national championship in 2011. A five-time Ontario University Athletics all-star and three-time all-Canadian, she was the first UWindsor student-athlete to receive the BLG Award as the country’s female athlete of the year in university sport, and twice won the Banner Shield as Lancer female athlete of the year.
Miah-Marie Langlois (BComm 2014) played guard on four straight national championship teams in women’s basketball, twice earning the Banner Shield, as well as receiving a DeMarco Award for combining academic and athletic prowess. She went on to a career with Canada’s senior women’s basketball program, representing the nation at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Meaghan (Pototschnik) Whattam (BScN 2013) won back-to-back OUA individual golf titles and was a three-time OUA first-team all-star in women’s golf. She also took home a DeMarco Award as the top female academic student-athlete of the year.
Drew Macaulay (BA 1998, B.Ed 1999) competed for the Lancers in cross country and track, helping the team earn men’s OUA titles from 1995-99, including gold medal performances in the 1500m and 3000m events, and silver in the 4x800m relay. He eared all-Canadian status in both cross country and track.
Richard Holland (BA 1986) was named Lancer male rookie of the year in 1983 for his inaugural season on the football defensive line, going on to all-star and all-Canadian berths as well as three straight years as Lancer football’s defensive player of the year.
