Associate professor and former dean of nursing (2010-20) Linda Patrick began a six-month term as acting executive director academic labour relations on May 23.
Dr. Patrick brings 10 years of leadership experience and over 30 years of nursing education experience in both college and university settings to this role. An experienced administrator, she is familiar with the Windsor University Faculty Association collective agreement and academic labour issues.
Patrick also serves as president of the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing, is the editor and author of a nursing fundamentals textbook, and is among the creators of a provincial consortium that developed an online bridging program for internationally educated nurses. She has reviewed nursing programs in several provinces for regulatory bodies and has conducted quality assurance reviews at universities across the country.
Interim provost and vice-president academic Patti Weir welcomed Patrick to her new role.
“Our office is looking forward to Dr. Patrick’s leadership in this transitional role as the office continues to work towards securing a permanent candidate for the position,” she said. “Moving forward, the executive director of academic labour relations will act as a single point of contact for those in the academic portfolio, and Dr. Patrick’s expertise will bring valuable insight to this acting role.”
