A fundraising campaign will enable donors of at least $1,000 to sponsor a seat in the Lancer Centre’s gymnasium.

The Take a Seat program is making available 932 spectator seats in the home of varsity basketball and volleyball, intramural sport activities, and Convocation ceremonies.

“Take a Seat offers Lancer alumni, fans, and supporters the unique opportunity to name a seat in the Lancer Centre triple-court gymnasium, to be completed in May 2022,” says athletics director Mike Havey. “This is the perfect way to celebrate your commitment to UWindsor with a gift that will strengthen and support the ties between our fans, students, alumni, community, and athletes.”

Donations are eligible for tax deduction and will entitle supporters to a plaque located on the base of each seat in perpetuity, bearing a message to honour:

• an individual, couple, or family;
• children, grandchildren, or parents;
• the memory of a loved one; or
• an accomplishment or celebration.

Contributors may pledge over two years and pay by credit card or through payroll deduction. Find details on the Take a Seat website.
