Lancer women’s basketball will benefit from the talent and maturity of new recruit Reine Ndome, says head coach Chantal Vallée.
An all-star guard for the CEGEP Montmorency Nomades in Laval, Que., Ndome received awards as the “heart of the team” and most valuable player.
“There is a reason why she won awards honouring her heart and passion, and the team will benefit greatly from a personality like hers,” Vallée says. “She scores and wins games for her team and her defence-focused mindset is going to intimidate many across the league.”
Ndome will major in criminology and says the diversity of the University community helped her to choose UWindsor.
“It’s important for me to be at a place where I fit in,” she says. “There is also a great representation of women empowerment that the women’s basketball program takes time to show and recognize.”
