A four-week wellness program from the Windsor-Essex Compassion Care Community is aimed at relieving end-of-semester stress of post-secondary students.
“Moods in Motion” is part of a Virtual Community Centre offering free programming to the public. Its sessions explore the mind-body connection. Each begins with an interactive discussion about the use of movement to help manage mood, followed by a low-impact cardio warm-up and dance workout.
Social work major Dianne Burrell is serving an internship with the organization and invites fellow students to join in.
“Come blow off some steam to today’s top hits,” she says. “Movement and exercises can be modified to suit various abilities.”
The sessions run over the next four Mondays — March 22 and 29, April 5 and 12 — from 11 to 11:40 a.m. No advance registration is required; just sign in through the Zoom videoconferencing platform.
