Eight panellists with ties to university sports in Canada, including Black student-athletes, coaches, sport administrators, and alumni, will engage in a conversation Tuesday, Feb. 16, in observance of Black History Month.
Hosted by Savanna Hamilton, a former member of the Ryerson Rams women’s basketball team and now a producer with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, the event is presented by U Sports, the national governing body for varsity athletics at Canadian universities, including the Windsor Lancers.
The event will celebrate the achievements of Black people in sport, examine the issues and barriers the BIPOC community faces, and highlight advocacy work to address them. Find more information, including a list of participants and details of how to tune in, on the U Sports website.
