Organizers of the Lancer Leadership Conference are now accepting submissions for student presentations and registration for attendees.
A collaborative project of Lancer Recreation, Residence Life, and the Student Success and Leadership Centre, the conference will be held on Blackboard and Teams from March 8 to 13.
“There will be many ways to for students to engage with the experience — synchronous and asynchronous, listening, learning, and sharing,” says Simon du Toit, co-ordinator of leadership development in the Student Success and Leadership Centre. “This is a high-energy conference for the students, by the students, to show that there is no age limit to becoming a great leader.”
The conference theme this year is “Leadership and Community.” Workshops will discuss how to support equitable leadership development among racialized groups, resilience through difficult times, effective communication, team building and conflict resolution, and more.
Apply here to make a live or recorded presentation. The deadline is Feb. 26.
Admission is free and open to anyone over the age of 16. Register here to attend.
Dr. du Toit also encourages faculty and staff to recommend the conference: “Help get the word out to the great student leaders you are working with!”
