UWindsor social work professor Kristen Lwin has expressed support for a province-wide project to spread the word about the services available to help children, youth, and families struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She works with the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society, a local agency participating in the #HeretohelpON social media campaign.
“Being unable to connect with friends and family during this pandemic may leave some children, youth, and families feeling alone and in need of support,” says Dr. Lwin. “While physical distancing may be in place, services to support you are still here to help.”
She encourages children, youths, or caregivers in need of help to contact the Children’s Aid Society.
“Reaching out for support may be difficult, but Windsor Essex is a strong community that comes together in times of need,” Lwin says.
