In celebration of National Volunteer Week 2020, April 19 through 25, the UWindsor Alumni Association is encouraging alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends to share their volunteer stories and experiences to highlight the incredible work being done on campus and in the community.
“All of the volunteers at UWindsor have done amazing work in support of the University’s mission,” says Rob Janisse, alumni co-ordinator in the Alumni Relations and Advancement Department. “It’s important to celebrate the contributions being made to our communities.”
He credits volunteers with an immeasurable role in building a sense of community at the University, whether framing diplomas and welcoming new grads into the alumni family at Convocation, serving on the alumni association’s board of directors and committees, or virtually mentoring a student through UWindsor Ten Thousand Coffees.
The Alumni Association is asking the campus community to share their volunteer experiences and tag @uwinalumni on Instagram and Twitter during National Volunteer Week.
“We want to share these stories with the University community to demonstrate the impact Lancers are making,” says Janisse.
