Quantum physicist Shohini Ghose of Wilfrid Laurier University is this year’s guest speaker in the Women in Science seminar series.
A presentation by a quantum physicist Friday, Feb. 7, is part of a program promoting women in science.
Aligning with this year’s UN International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Shohini Ghose, a professor in physics and computer science at Wilfrid Laurier University, will lead a seminar as part of the USci Network’s Women in Science (WinS) speaker series.
Dr. Ghose is director of the Laurier Centre for Women in Science and president of the Canadian Association of Physics.
"We are thrilled to be hosting Dr. Ghose for our annual Women in Science seminar,” says biology professor Dora Cavallo-Medved, director of the USci Network. “It is a great opportunity for our students to hear from and interact with such a powerful role model in science. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience both in her discipline and in leadership.”
Ghose’s seminar, titled “Balancing the Gender Equation in Science,” is set for 1 p.m. Friday in the Essex CORe atrium.
