An open house Tuesday, Oct. 29, will provide an opportunity for faculty members to learn more about being an equity assessor.
Equity assessors — formally Employment Equity/Procedures Assessors — serve as non-voting members on committees for academic appointments; administrative search; special appointments; and renewal, tenure, permanence, and promotion.
They are key resources in advancing equity:
- enhancing the diverse demographic composition of the University;
- supporting equity culture on campus;
- becoming familiar with other units and colleagues;
- giving back to the community and building a record of service.
The Windsor University Faculty Association’s Status of Women and Diversity Equity Action Committee and the Office of Human Rights, Equity and Accessibility invite current equity assessors to share their knowledge and experience through information conversations from noon to 2 p.m. At 12:30 p.m., a few will address the group and answer questions.
The event is set for the WUFA offices in Kerr House, located at 366 Sunset Ave.
