The Essex Law Association will confer its Charles J. Clark Award on UWindsor alumnus Harvey Strosberg (BSc 1966) in recognition of his professionalism and community service during its annual general meeting Saturday, April 27, at Caesars Windsor.
Strosberg is a senior partner at the law firm Strosberg Sasso Sutts and a pioneer of class actions in Canada. He taught the subject at Windsor Law, where he helped to found the Bernard Cohen Lecture Series. While he earned his own law degree at Osgoode Hall, his daughters, son, son-in-law, and stepson all completed their educations at Windsor Law.
He received the University’s Charles Clark Award in 1998 and an honorary doctorate in civil law in 2003. Strosberg’s professional accolades include the Law Society Medal in 2010 and the Ontario Bar Association Award of Excellence in Civil Litigation in 2011.
Also at Saturday’s dinner, the association will honour members of long standing, including law professor Myra Tawfik, celebrating her 25 years’ membership.
