Conference to showcase forensic sciences program

A University of Windsor event is offering students a chance to learn about the diversity of the Faculty of Science’s Forensic Sciences program.

The sixth annual Trends in Forensic Sciences Conference will bring together professionals and scholars from the field on Tuesday, April 2.

“The aim of this conference is to educate our students on the diversity of our program by providing them with exposure to the multiple disciples of Forensic Science through an umbrella approach,” says professor Shashi Jasra. “There will be demonstrations with hands on CSI-Windsor workshops, an outdoor mock crime scene, and much more.”

  • Lokman Sung, M.D., a forensic pathologist at the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office, will deliver a keynote address at 10 a.m. in the Alumni Auditorium, CAW Student Centre.
  • CSI-Windsor: Hands-On Forensic Workshops take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Essex Hall, Rooms 208, 219, and the USCI Lab (335)
  • An outdoor mock crime scene investigation takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. outside the CAW Student Centre.
