Humanities Week continues today — Thursday, March 28 — with a panel discussion on the topic “War on Film,” in Rock Bottom Bar and Grill at 6 p.m.

Panellists include:

• bestselling author Donald L. Miller, whose book Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany is being developed into a miniseries by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks;
• documentarian Barry Stevens, who directed 30 films in the award-winning series War Story for History TV (edited by UWindsor film professor Nick Hector); and
• writer and lecturer Robert Burgoyne, whose work centers on the theory and representation of history in film.

The event is free and open to the public; Rock Bottom is located at 3236 Sandwich St.

The final event in the Huamnities Week series is “Debating Sacrifice with Durkheim,” a lecture by sociology professor Ronjon Paul Datta, at 6 p.m. Friday in the Performance Hall, SoCA Armouries, 37 University Ave. E.
