An information session held by one of Canada’s foremost technology companies offered UWindsor students a chance to discuss and learn about co-operative education and experiential learning opportunities.
More than 150 students turned up October 19, to hear representatives from BlackBerry, specialists in enterprise software and services, promote their brand and answer questions about its co-op and internship programs, which give participants the opportunity to work on such cutting-edge technologies as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Enterprise of Things (EoT).
Nilam Savani, a student in the Master of Applied Computing program, says she attended the session due to her interest in working with Blackberry.
“They are an example of a company that has changed from being a part of the hardware industry to now having a focus on software instead,” says Savani. “I found that very fascinating, and I came to this session with many questions about their interview process.”
Johanna Beneteau, internship co-ordinator for Co-operative Education and Workplace Partnerships, says the company believes in UWindsor talent.
“Our students really enjoy their placement as they are made to feel like part of the team and are given challenging and rewarding work,” she says.
