Marcela Ciampa had a chance Friday to see how it feels to be on the other side, and she liked it.
Director of organizational development and training in the Department of Human Resources, she was one of 131 individuals recognized for their years of service at a breakfast reception in the student centre — an event she usually helps to run.
“It was a great opportunity to reflect on my contributions to the University and experience the importance of coming together to celebrate how each one of us has made a difference over the years.” said Ciampa, who reached the milestone of 10 years of employment with the University of Windsor in 2017.
“This event was introduced in 2011 to celebrate and honour the dedication, commitment and contributions of employees to the University and I was very proud to be here today to share this honour with my colleagues across campus.”
English professor Tom Dilworth, one of six honorees celebrating 40 years of service, said he has been “privileged” to spend so much of his career at the University of Windsor.
“This is just a heavenly place to work, to do research, and to teach,” he said. “Our students are just such lovely people, and the faculty and people working in support roles are so nice.”
The event acknowledged employees who have accumulated decades of service: besides the six with 40 years, 16 with 30 years, 24 with 20 years, and 85 with 10 years. See a full list on the Human Resources website.
