The weekend’s crop of home openers produced mixed results for UWindsor varsity teams, with a loss for football, a win for men’s soccer, and ties for women’s soccer.
In its first game at home of the 2018 season, Lancer football fell to the Carleton Ravens, 38-20, Monday.

Soccer goes undefeated in weekend contests
The Lancer men’s soccer team came away with a win and a tie over the weekend, defeating Brock 3-0 Friday on goals by Jamar Redhead, Stefan Milidrag, and Celso Carapau; goaltender Greg Chac secured the shutout. Milidrag scored Windsor’s lone goal in a 1-1 tie with McMaster on Saturday.
The women’s soccer team earned their first two points of the young season, tying Brock 1-1 Friday on a goal by Jade Samping, and McMaster 2-2 Saturday behind goals by Lea Pentney and Kaylea Cunliffe.
Both will head back on the road, travelling to Sault Ste. Marie for a pair of doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday, September 8 and 9, against the Algoma Thunderbirds. The women will play at 1 p.m. and the men at 3 p.m. both days.
