The United Way of Windsor-Essex County will celebrate women who have helped to shape the community with a luncheon Wednesday, May 9.

The “Celebrating the Women who Inspire Us” event is hosted by Women Leading the Way, a committee that works to support the charity’s efforts.

Shelley Awad, author of the Greenhouse Kids mystery series, will deliver a keynote address. Organizers ask attendees to bring a children’s book to donate to the United Way’s summer lunch program.

The luncheon is set for 11:30 a.m. at the Fogolar Furlan Club, 1800 North Service Road. Tickets are $35, available through the event website or by phoning 519-258-0000, ext. 1125.
