The Trends in Forensic Sciences conference, Friday, April 6, will bring together students and professionals to raise awareness of the importance of criminal investigations and preservation of forensic evidence.
The fifth annual conference, organized in collaboration with Wayne State University, will consist of a keynote speaker, multidisciplinary presentations by experts in the profession, oral and poster presentations of research by fourth-year forensic students, mock crime scenes, and hands-on workshops:
- Gary Berman, a board-certified forensic dentist on staff in the Wayne County Michigan Medical Examiner’s office, will deliver a keynote address at 10 a.m. in the Alumni Auditorium, CAW Student Centre.
- The CSI-Windsor: Hands-On Forensic Workshops take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in room 335, Essex Hall.
- The Mock Crime Scene lab will feature ballistics, blood spatter, fingerprints, and so much more, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in room 219, Essex Hall.
- An outdoor Mock Crime Scene Investigation takes place from 12:30 to 1 p.m. outside the CAW Student Centre.
