Trivia knowledge sends contest winner to classic of Canadian stage

Stacey Marion, clinical and experiential learning co-ordinator in the Faculty of Law, won Monday’s DailyNews trivia quiz and its prize of two tickets to the current University Players production, Les Belles Soeurs.

Marion’s entry was drawn from all those which correctly identified 1968 as the date of the play’s first production, French as its original language, and Montreal as its setting.

The raucous classic was a revolutionary piece of Canadian theatre when it premiered, and it remains funny, moving, and wildly entertaining.

The University Players’ show, in English translation, runs through Sunday in Essex Hall Theatre. Performances Wednesday through Saturday are at 8 p.m.; matinees Saturday and Sunday are at 2 p.m. Order tickets online at www.UniversityPlayers.com or by phoning 519-253-3000, ext. 2808.
