Observations on Canada-U.S. border to kick off speaker series

It’s an important time to be discussing the Canada-U.S. border, as trade and immigration issues generate headlines in both countries.

A talk hosted by the Cross-Border Institute this week will explore the last eight years of the bi-national relationship and prospects for the future under new federal administrations in both countries.

Christopher Sands, director of the Center for Canadian Studies at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies, will kick off the new Cross-Border Institute Speaker Series with his presentation at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 5, in the Pitt-Ferry Building, 167 Ferry Street.

The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. RSVP at CBInstitute.ca/events. The institute will also stream the lecture live through its Facebook page.
