Shelley Gilbert, co-ordinator of social work services for Legal Assistance of Windsor, will deliver a keynote address at a gathering of colleagues in her profession next week.
The event — Monday, March 9, at the Serbian Centre — is the annual general meeting of the regional branch of the Ontario Association of Social Workers. Gilbert will discuss her work to assist the victims of human trafficking and advocate for systemic change and legislative reform.
In celebration of Social Work Week, the event will also feature dinner and an opportunity to network.
“It’s a chance for social workers in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent to celebrate the profession, connect with colleagues and friends, and learn about the impactful work that social workers are doing on a daily basis,” says Adam Vasey, president of the association’s southwestern branch.
The Serbian Centre is located at 6770 Tecumseh Road East. Find details on the event, including times and ticket information, on the association’s website.
