An information session Monday, November 7, will provide tips to students hoping to enrol next year in Creative Writing I (26-203).
The course is open to all students, not just those majoring in the subject, says program chair Susan Holbrook, who will lead the session. She will discuss the application process, how to put together a portfolio, and steps students can take now to improve their work and engage with the contemporary writing community.
“Here’s your first tip: Writing doesn’t happen in a vacuum,” Dr. Holbrook says. “Go to every reading you can to get a sense of current writing practice.”
She recommends students attend Thursday’s reading by Anne Fleming and Bookfest Windsor, which runs November 4 to 6 at the Art Gallery of Windsor.
Monday’s session begins at 1 p.m. in the Oak Room, Vanier Hall.
