Medallists among Convocation honorees

Among the more than 900 graduands who will be honoured during the University’s 106th Convocation ceremonies Saturday, October 15, are winners of the Board of Governors Medals in engineering, awarded to the graduating student with the highest academic standing in each program:

  • Civil and Environmental Engineering: Eric Walo
  • Electrical and Computer Engineering: Charles Baker
  • Mechanical, Automotive and Materials Engineering: Yu Zeng

Medals in other faculties are awarded during Spring Convocation.

Christine Madliger, a doctoral grad in biological sciences, will receive the Governor General’s Gold Medal for the highest academic standing at the graduate level among her cohort. Read more about her accomplishments next week in DailyNews.

Fall Convocation opens at 10 a.m., when degrees will be conferred on graduating classes (including graduate studies) in the faculties of engineering, nursing, and science.

At the 3 p.m. session, degrees will be conferred on graduands in the faculties of arts, humanities and social sciences; business; education; human kinetics; and law.
