Friday’s reception to welcome visitors to Alumni Weekend will feature a celebration of the arts.
Music student Daniel Turner will entertain with his classical guitar; alumnus Keith Wilkinson (BMus, B.Ed 2014) will perform with his jazz trio; poet Vanessa Shields (BA 2002) will read from her latest collection; and Jodi Green of Levigator Press will lead a screen printing demonstration and workshop—participants will have a chance to create their own posters to take home.
The Arts Café runs 6 to 8 p.m. September 30 in the lobby of the Welcome Centre and promises a buffet and cash bar. The first 100 guests will receive a gift from the Alumni Association.
The event is free and open to all alumni and friends of the University, but guests must register in advance; fill out the form online.
Alumni Weekend activities include a Mini-U symposium and Lancer football game Saturday, and the Alumni Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony and awards presentations Sunday.
