Fans are applauding the efforts of two Lancer athletes who competed for Canada in the North American Central American and Caribbean under-23 track and field championships this past weekend in San Salvador, El Salvador.
Runner Corey Bellemore and thrower Eli Pawliw both finished in the top 10 in their events.
Bellemore earned a podium place with a bronze-medal performance in the 800m race with a time of 1:47.88, just a fraction of a second behind the first-place 1:47.52 of American Isaiah Harris.
Pawliw finished ninth in shot put with a 16.20m throw.
Both student-athletes had participated in the Canadian Olympic trials a week earlier in Edmonton.
