Christine Côté got a wonderful start to permanent employment with the University of Windsor, winning a $1,000 US prize from the recruitment firm that put her on campus.
She received the “Job Jackpot” prize Thursday from Express Employment Professionals, the staffing provider that helped her land a job as administrative financial clerk in the Department of Biological Sciences.
Côté won the competition for the position’s permanent posting and begins in that capacity today—Monday, June 20.
The Job Jackpot is a random draw that rewards associates who are issued ballots for periods of employment, said Colleen Gaudette, owner of the company’s Windsor franchise.
Côté was “ecstatic” with the surprise.
“I never thought I would win,” she said, adding she has no immediate plans for spending the windfall.
