An expanded team of faculty, students and staff will represent Windsor at the Ontario Universities Fair next weekend at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, says an organizer, putting a spotlight on projects by students.
“We’ll be showing off some of the cool things made by engineering students; videos produced by our communication, media and film students; and even a game programmed by a computer science student that will have players making a virtual run through the campus,” says Zora Savic, of the student recruitment office.
UWindsor has a new booth design that will feature a video lounge with an overhead panoramic image of the quad, and a representation of a room in the Alumni Hall residence.
“At a big show like this, that will attract 120,000 people, the idea is to bring prospective students onto our carpet and make them feel like they are on our campus,” Savic says. “When we can engage them in conversation, it gives us a chance to invite them to come see the campus for themselves—at the Fall Open House or on an individual campus tour.”
The fair runs September 25 to 27 and will bring all 21 Ontario universities under one roof.
