Campus employees who completed the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) modules, say the training proved to be fast and easy thanks to a new online video format.
“I did all the training in one session, and it took about 20 to 25 minutes. The videos were straightforward and easy to follow,” says Institutional Analyst, Robyn Nease.
“It does provide valuable information for all people, regardless of what you do or where you work.”
Anne Mullen, Accessibility and Human Rights Manager in the University’s Office of Human Rights, Equity & Accessibility (OHREA), says many faculties have successfully completed the training.
“The Faculty of Nursing has had one of the highest number of employees complete the training, and 100 percent of the employees in the Office of Institutional Analysis and the Office of Legal Services have completed the course.”
The new training provides an introduction to the Ontario Human Rights Code, the AODA and how they work together.
All UWindsor employees, volunteers, third party service providers and policy-makers are encouraged to complete the training by June 10.
