Looking for a good time, Shakespeare-style?
The University Players production of William Shakespeare’s popular comedy, Twelfth Night, opens tonight and runs through March 22 in the Jackman Dramatic Art Centre’s Hatch Studio Theatre.
This production retains the script with its hijinks and mistaken identities that made the play a classic, while setting the action in Jazz-Age Detroit, says director Gordon McCall: “with its attendant rum running, speakeasies, Charleston dance craze, fervent anti-drinking temperance movement and the amazing music of the period.”
