The women’s basketball team secured home advantage through the OUA playoffs with a 77-68 win over the Laurier Golden Hawks in Waterloo on Saturday. Korissa Williams scored 14 points in the first quarter and finished with a game-high 28 points and 13 rebounds. A 15-5 record earned the men’s basketball squad the west division title as the No. 5 ranked Lancers closed out its regular season with an 87-77 win over the Laurier Golden Hawks on Saturday afternoon. Fans are celebrating the most successful season in a decade for the men’s volleyball team, which ended Saturday after two defeats at the OUA championship tournament. Windsor lost 3-1 (22-25, 18-25, 25-23, 20-25) Friday to the eventual-champion McMaster Marauders, then dropped Saturday’s bronze-medal game to the York Lions 3-2 (25-23, 25-21, 20-25, 19-25, 11-15).
Fifth-year forward Candace Kourounis scored the lone goal for Windsor as the women’s hockey team lost a 2-1 overtime decision Saturday to the Toronto Varsity Blues to drop the quarter-final series in two straight games.
