Engaging social work clients in meaningful conversation about change is the subject of a three-part webinar series offered by Community Partners for Applied Research and Consultation (CPARC).
The series of videos, “Motivational Interviewing (MI): Collaborative Conversations to Bring about Change,” is drawn from a workshop facilitated by Marilyn Herie in May 2014, co-sponsored by the City of Windsor and recorded in partnership with the University of Windsor’s Office of Open Learning.
Dr. Herie discusses the practice of Motivational Interviewing, covering key concepts and methods in distinguishing “change” talk from “sustain” talk, recognizing the five essential skills and discussing concrete objectives for applying and evaluating MI in practice.
