The University Players production of Sleeping Beauty, a modern retelling of the classic children’s fairy tale, opens tonight at Essex Hall Theatre.

This version, a refreshing and funny take on the familiar story, is written by Rufus Norris and directed by UWindsor drama professor Brian Taylor. It runs November 21 to 24 and November 27 to December 1.

On Sunday, November 24, a “Talk Back” discussion with the director and actors will follow the performance. The day also marks the debut of this season’s Let’s Talk Theatre luncheon-lecture series.
